WINSTON-SALEM -- While it wasn't the first half NC State's defense was shooting for, allowing Wake Forest to cruise up and down the field with a one-score lead, the Wolfpack settled in to lead the team to a 34-24 comeback win on Thursday night. NC State pitched a shutout against Wake Forest as its defense forced four straight 3-and-outs to begin the second half. The Wolfpack defense also logged its first multi-takeaway performance of the year with interceptions from defensive end Isaiah Shirley, a 41-yard pick-six, and safety Ronnie Royal III.
