NC State's defense knew it needed to play a complete game, despite the opponent being an FCS foe. And it did just that as the Wolfpack cruised to a 56-10 win over Campbell on Saturday afternoon at Carter-Finley Stadium. The Wolfpack defense didn't allow the Camels to move the ball past the NC State 40-yard line on their own in the win as all 10 points it gave up came off turnovers, while NC State posted two sacks and seven tackles for a loss in the process. Redshirt junior linebacker Kenny Soares Jr. led the team with nine total tackles, while redshirt freshman safety Ronnie Royal III had eight, and graduate linebacker Caden Fordham and redshirt freshman nickel Jivan Baly had seven each. As NC State's defense played well on the field, Pro Football Focus seemed to agree as the Wolfpack had four defenders earn 80.0 grades or better in the win. Redshirt freshman defensive lineman Josiah Victor led the team with an 85.2 mark, while redshirt sophomore cornerback Brian Nelson II, graduate defensive end Sabastian Harsh and senior linebacker Tra Thomas. Let’s take a look at NC State’s full list of initial PFF grades and snap counts with notes to put some of the data into context.
