NC State football snap counts, PFF grades and notes: Defense vs. Virginia

Although the first half wasn't what NC State's defense wanted as it allowed Virginia to go 10-for-13 on third-down conversions, the Wolfpack settled in to spark a 35-31 comeback win on Saturday afternoon inside Carter-Finley Stadium. NC State allowed just 7 points in the final 30 minutes to cruise to its second straight win to begin the 2025 campaign. The Wolfpack defense stood tall in the final two minutes, including a game-sealing interception from standout pass rusher Cian Slone in the end zone. Like Week 1, Wyoming transfer defensive end Sabastian Harsh and Slone were the Wolfpack defense's top-rated players in the victory, according to Pro Football Focus. Let’s take a look at NC State’s full list of grades and snap counts with notes to put some of the data into context.
