NC State freshman report: Who played in the loss vs. Virginia Tech, breaking down each performance

NC State couldn’t find a way to get past Virginia Tech in a 23-21 loss to the Hokies on Saturday night at Carter-Finley Stadium.  Although the Wolfpack posted back-to-back losses for the first time this season, it set a new season high with nine true freshmen seeing game action, including linebacker LaCorian Hodge’s first snaps on defense and offensive lineman Spike Sowells' first-career start in the loss to the Hokies.  It’s important to note that players can appear in up to four regular season games and still retain their redshirt.
