NC State, Georgia 'agreed' to cancel future home-and-home series
NC State tried to establish several non-conference home-and-home series with SEC programs, but the Wolfpack has now had two scrapped due to upcoming nine-game conference schedules.
First, the Wolfpack’s home-and-home series with Florida for the 2026 and 2032 seasons was canceled in October 2024. Now, Georgia and NC State have “agreed” to call off the future home-and-home battles for the 2033 and 2034 seasons, the Bulldogs announced Wednesday morning.
The games, which were set for Sept. 17, 2033 in Athens and Sept. 16, 2034 in Raleigh, are not set to be replaced. Georgia also canceled a home-and-home with Louisville, which was set to begin next season, though the two sides are still exploring an option to play a neutral-site game in the future.
NC State and Georgia’s game contract, which was signed in 2021, called for a $2 million penalty if a school were to cancel on the other, though it is voided if its mutual. It appears that both parties agreed to move on, likely forgoing the cancellation fee.
Although the Wolfpack has had a pair of SEC non-conference home-and-home series fall through due to both conferences expanding their league schedules beginning next season, NC State still has one with Vanderbilt on the books. Dave Doeren’s squad will visit the Commodores on Sept. 12, 2026 before hosting Vanderbilt on Sept. 16, 2028.

Additionally, the Pack also has a home-and-home with South Carolina still scheduled for the 2030 and 2031 seasons.
NC State currently has four non-conference games set for the 2027 and 2028 seasons, but will have to cancel one of those games in each campaign to fit the ACC’s nine-game league slate moving forward.
