After missing each of the last two games with an Achilles injury, NC State redshirt junior guard Terrance Arceneaux will play in the Maui Invitational next week, Wolfpack coach Will Wade said Thursday morning.

“He’s been cleared,” Wade said. “He had a good check-up. We got some scans done yesterday that all came back really, really good. I feel like he’ll be able to help us in Maui.”

Arceneaux played in the first two games of the season, averaging 9.0 minutes a night. He was 0-of-1 shooting with two rebounds and two assists in the opener against North Carolina Central, while he scored 3 points with two rebounds, a block and a steal in the second game against UAB.

The Beaumont, Texas, native played just eight minutes against the Blazers before spending the rest of the time on the bench with a sore Achilles. He was questionable to play against VCU, and while he was dressed, Arceneaux wasn’t used off the bench in the 85-79 win Monday night.

NC State was cautious with Arceneaux’s injury since he suffered a season-ending Achilles tear in his right leg in the 11th game of his sophomore campaign at Houston. He had it surgically repaired before bouncing back last season with 6.5 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.

Arceneaux’s return to the lineup will be a welcomed addition since he has a reputation of being one of the top perimeter defenders in the nation. Wade expects the guard to be ready to go for the Wolfpack’s Maui Invitational opener against Seton Hall on Monday at 2:30 p.m. ET, barring any possible setbacks in practice leading up to the neutral-site tilt.
