NC State guard Trey Parker “day-to-day” after hard fall against Coastal Carolina

NC State freshman guard Trey Parker is dealing with what appears to be a left wrist injury and is listed as day-to-day, Wolfpack coach Kevin Keatts said after Monday’s 72-49 win over Colgate.
“He had an MRI and it came back negative,” Keatts said of Parker, who sported a brace and didn’t play against the Raiders. “He’s incredibly sore.”
Parker took a hard fall in the Pack’s 82-70 win over Coastal Carolina last Wednesday night after a second-half dunk. He finished the game without any signs of injury, though he was not seen in the Pack’s postgame locker room during the media availability following the win.
The Fayetteville, N.C., native scored a career-best 13 points with five rebounds in 20 minutes during the Wolfpack’s win over the Chanticleers. It marked his first-career game with more than 18 minutes on the floor and his most efficient shooting performance with 6-of-8 shooting against Coastal Carolina.
Parker is currently averaging 6.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists through three appearances with the Pack.

While Parker was not available for the Wolfpack against Colgate, NC State leaned on freshman guard Bryce Heard in his place. The former reclassified guard played 18 minutes, but missed all four of his shot attempts with one rebound and one assist.
In addition to Parker’s injury, the Pack was also without junior forward Ismael Diouf. The former Laval (Canada) College transfer is day-to-day as he is dealing with an elbow bone bruise suffered in practice.
“Both of those guys are day-by-day,” Keatts said of Diouf and Parker. “I have no idea when they’re coming back. We’re just trying to treat them. It’s nothing, I hope, that will keep them out for a long time. But they’ve got some deep bone bruises.”
While Diouf and Parker were new to the Wolfpack’s inactive players against Colgate, senior wing Mike James was not dressed for the fourth straight game. James is currently recovering from a preseason knee scope and is still at least two weeks away from returning to the court.
