NC State Newsstand: Freshman wrestler Will Denny to compete at U20 PanAmerican Championships

NC State freshman wrestler Will Denny is set to enter his collegiate career as a decorated athlete. But before he is set to arrive on campus, the standout competitor has an opportunity to add to his laundry list of accolades with Team USA in the U20 2025 PanAmerican Championships in Peru this weekend.
Denny, the No. 3 wrestler at 165 pounds in the 2025 recruiting cycle, will compete at 74kg — the same weight class he finished third at the 2025 U20 U.S. Open earlier this year — during the July 10-13 event.
In addition to his international bout this week, Denny was a three-time Illinois State Champion during his high school career. He won the 150-pound title as a sophomore, the 157-pound crown as a junior and the 165-pound championship as a senior.
Denny is no stranger to elite competition, either, as he won the 2024 Super 32 title over top-seeded Melvin Miller in the championship bout. He won the tournament MVP for the upper weights at the event.
