Mohamed Diarra, a former Missouri Tiger and top-ranked junior college athlete in the nation, officially joined the NC State men’s basketball program Monday. The Wolfpack announced his signing via a press release.
Standing at 6-10, Diarra committed to NC State April 24 after averaging 3.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game with Missouri during the 2022-2023 season. The big man from Montreuil, France, was a star in junior college for Garden City Community College, putting up 17.8 points and 12.6 rebounds per game.
“I’m excited to add Mohamed to our program,” Keatts said in the press release. “He’s a very talented player with a great upside. He averaged a double-double two years ago in junior college and even though he didn’t replicate those numbers last season at Missouri, he was a valuable player on a team that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
I think Mohamed will take the next step in his development in our program and is an excellent addition to our locker room.”
Diarra has two years of eligibility remaining and joins Clemson transfer Ben Middlebrooks, Ernest Ross and D.J. Burns in the NC State front court for the upcoming season.

NC State quote of the day
This quote is from Carolina Panthers general Manager Scott Fitterer talking about Zavala and Ekwonu.
“He and Ickey are really close,” Scott Fitterer said. “He’s a guy that really wanted to be here. He had a really good visit with us. We went back like two years ago watching tape, so he lines up right next to Ickey. They’re road grading people, and they’re good friends.”
