Over the past two years, Cian Slone found himself battling offensive tackle Teague Andersen every day at practice with Utah State. The two All-Mountain West players spent countless hours making each other better on the side fields in Logan, Utah. But it seemed like those days were over this past December. Andersen entered the transfer portal to look for a new place to play, likely with a Power Conference program, while Slone believed he was out of collegiate eligibility. That was until Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia sued for another year of eligibility as a former junior college player, which was soon granted. Slone, who spent his first two seasons at American River College (Calif.), was awarded another season to play. And like Andersen, he entered the portal, looking to spend his final season at a bigger program.  Andersen landed with NC State in December, and he joined the Wolfpack for spring practice. Slone, meanwhile, generated a wealth of interest during his time in the transfer portal but he didn’t find a new home until the Pack came calling.  Although it was a roundabout way, the former teammates were reunited again. And just like they had for the previous two years, Andersen and Slone have battled on the Wolfpack’s practice fields this past month.
