On3 dropped another addition of its On300 Rankings for the 2024 football recruiting class Monday. A couple of priority NC State prospects made the cut as elite prospects, and a few top Wolfpack recruits received ranking adjustments as well.

From impressive debut ratings for Trent Mitchell and Tyler West, to Terrell Anderson’s continued climb into the top-100, here are a few highlights from the update.

No. 82— Terrell Anderson, wide receiver

Previous ranking: No. 113

The scoop: Following a pair of dominant seasons with Grimsley High, Anderson has steadily climbed up On3’s rankings. He is now a top-100 prospect and the No. 12 wide receiver in the country. North Carolina’s top-ranked pass catcher is strongly considering the Wolfpack. His recruitment is down to Tennessee and NC State after he officially visited both programs in June.

On3 ranks Anderson higher than the rest of the industry. All three other major recruiting sites consider him a three-star prospect and rank him between 12 and 25 in North Carolina. Standing 6-3, 184 pounds, he caught 64 passes for 1,254 yards and 11 touchdowns during his junior year and also returned 3 kickoffs for touchdowns.

No. 259— Jonathan Paylor, wide receiver

Previous ranking: Unranked

The scoop: Paylor, one of the most dynamic athletes in the state, climbed back into the On300 this week. At 5-9, 170-pounds, the athlete can make explosive plays in a variety of roles, and he is now the No. 10 recruit in the state. His recruitment is trending heavily towards South Carolina, but NC State remains in the running alongside UNC, Penn State and Maryland.

The rest of the industry ranks Paylor higher than On3. Both Rivals and ESPN consider him a top-100 prospect, while 247Sports has him slotted at No. 206. Paylor is incredibly explosive and made plays as a running back and a receiver as a junior, racking up 77 carries for 1,054 yards and 27 receptions for 725 yards. He scored 25 total touchdowns.

Other notable ranking updates

  • 3-star offensive tackle Trent Mitchell (88): Days before committing to NC State last week, Mitchell received his debut ranking. He slots in as the No. 18 overall recruit in North Carolina and the No. 3 in-state offensive lineman. Mitchell, who plays for Gastonia (NC) Ashbrook High, picked the Wolfpack over Maryland and ECU.
  • 3-star interior offensive lineman Tyler West (88): The Andrews (NC) High prospect received his ranking recently as the No. 27 recruit in the state and the No. 51 interior offensive line prospect overall. NC State is one of the top contenders in his recruitment alongside Duke.
