NC State RB/LB Jordan Poole to enter transfer portal

NC State running back/linebacker Jordan Poole announced he will enter the transfer portal as a graduate on social media Friday afternoon. He is seeking to play running back with his final season of eligibility.
Poole, who began his career as a linebacker and moved to running back during the 2023 campaign, was primarily a special teams player for the Pack. He logged 480 snaps on special teams during his career, including 156 this past season.
The Oakboro, N.C., native finished his NC State career with 16 total tackles, including two during the 2024 season, to go with a 12-yard touchdown reception and a pass defended during his time in Raleigh.

Poole’s lone touchdown of his career was a key score as it gave NC State a 7-3 lead on Miami during the 2023 season, a game it ultimately won 20-6. The big-bodied back was key in blocking situations during that season as he played 53 total snaps on offense.
Before he became a special teams stalwart for the Pack, Poole was a four-star running back recruit at West Stanly High, the No. 75 overall player in the 2021 recruiting cycle, according to On3. He logged 46 tackles with three interceptions, while he also had 368 carries for 3,133 yards and 38 scores to go with 31 receptions for 487 yards and four touchdowns.
