NC State basketball never stops recruiting. The Wolfpack is always looking to add to its future rosters, which will continue against UNC-Asheville on Saturday afternoon at the Lenovo Center.

The Pack is set to host Somerset (N.J.) Rutgers Prep 2028 four-star small forward Will Brunson for an unofficial visit during its matinee battle against the Bulldogs.

Brunson, the No. 36 sophomore in the country, is a high-upside player with room to continue to take his game to another level. The No. 9 small forward in the 2028 cycle has previously described his skill set as a “willing passer.”

“I like to involve my teammates. When my teammates are having fun, I’m having fun, and when I’m having fun, I play better, “ Brunson previously told Rivals’ Jamie Shaw. “I think my handle’s gotten better and my jump shot’s gotten better, it’s opened up a lot more gateways for me to score. I watch a lot of Shai (Gilgeous-Alexander). I can watch him all day, and so that’s my favorite player. I like his pace. It’s really smooth, everything is just smooth, so that’s definitely one of my favorite players.”

In nine games with the NY Rens on Nike’s E15 circuit this past summer, the 6-foot-6, 185-pound prospect averaged 9.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists on 38.2 percent shooting.

Brunson will be the third recruit to stop by Raleigh for a game day visit since coach Will Wade and General Manager Andrew Slater took over at NC State. The Pack also hosted Raleigh (N.C.) Broughton 2027 five-star shooting guard Jordan Page and Southeast Raleigh (N.C.) 2028 three-star small forward Aaron Parker earlier this season.

Brunson, who doesn’t publicly claim an offer from the Wolfpack yet, holds offers from Auburn, La Salle, Mississippi State, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Syracuse and TCU.

“I’ll be looking for a community,” Brunson said. “I want to go to a college that’s going to put their all into their basketball team. Like all the fans are there just for like a family, to be honest.”
