After losing four of its last five — the lone win being against FCS Campbell — NC State called a players-only meeting coming off the 19-point defeat at Pitt two weeks ago. It was time for the Wolfpack’s captains and leadership council to hold their teammates accountable without the coaching staff present, and well, it seemed to be effective.  Not only did NC State play a complete game between all three phases coming off that honest assembly of the entire roster, but the Wolfpack found a way to knock off No. 8 Georgia Tech 48-36 this past Saturday.  The top-10 win, just the second of Dave Doeren’s tenure in Raleigh, sent Carter-Finley Stadium into a frenzy, including a field storm as the final seconds ticked off the clock. It seemed to be a big relief for the Wolfpack fan base that was eager to see a positive result, but it appeared to help pop the tense bubble within the Murphy Center that comes with a losing streak.
