NC State vs. Memphis game notes

– NC State has now made a bowl game in each of the last six years, which is the longest continuous streak under one coach in program history, while the Pack has earned a postseason bid in 11 of the last 12 seasons. Only two other ACC teams have made as many bowl games in the last 12 years as Clemson has been in every one of those, while Miami has matched NC State’s 11 over that span.

– The Wolfpack has appeared in this bowl game before, but it went by a different name: the Bitcoin St. Pete Bowl in 2014. It was coach Dave Doeren’s first postseason game with the Wolfpack, which he helped guide the team to a 34-27 win over UCF. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett earned MVP honors in the game as he threw for 262 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for another 31 yards on the ground.

– This marks the first-ever meeting between NC State and Memphis. The two teams shared one common opponent this season: East Carolina. The Wolfpack beat the Pirates 24-17 to open the 2025 season, while the Tigers lost to ECU 31-27 in the penultimate regular season game.
