NC State WR Teddy Hoffmann’s record-setting first impression shocked some. But not QB CJ Bailey

NC State quarterback CJ Bailey stood in the Close-King Indoor Practice Facility lobby Monday afternoon with a smile on his face. He towered over the near dozen media members present for his final pre-game media availability ahead of the Wolfpack’s opener with his own opinion on which young player could be primed for a breakout performance this fall. “A guy that I expected to show me what he had was Teddy Hoffmann,” Bailey said at the time. “He’s a really good player. … Just [to name] one guy, it’s Teddy Hoffmann.” Although the speedy slot receiver stood out to Bailey, he might not have expected Hoffmann to post one of the more-electric collegiate debuts in program history. But just over 48 hours later, that’s exactly what the 6-foot-1, 181-pound wideout did.
