NC State’s ACC-SEC Challenge opponents, dates set for 2025-26 season
The ACC-SEC Challenge is back in its third iteration for the 2025-26 season. While the marquee non-conference pairings are set to pit the two league’s best teams against each other, both NC State men’s and women’s basketball will hit the road for their annual tilts.
Led by first-year coach Will Wade, the Wolfpack men will hit the road to play at Auburn on Dec. 3. The NC State women, meanwhile, are set to visit Oklahoma on the same night. Both games will be played on the ESPN family of networks.
The NC State men are 0-2 in the ACC-SEC Challenge with a 72-52 loss at Ole Miss in 2023 and a 63-59 loss to Texas this past season. Wes Moore’s team, however, has fared better in the event, going 2-0 in its pair of meetings with 70-62 win over Vanderbilt in 2023 and a 68-61 victory over then-No. 18 Ole Miss last season.
In the team’s all-time history, NC State is 4-2 against Auburn with the most-recent meeting, a 79-73 loss, coming in the 2019-20 campaign. The Tigers, which made the Final Four this past season, returns star guard Tahaad Pettiford, but does not have any of its top three scorers from its SEC Championship-winning squad. Auburn reloaded its roster through the transfer portal with On3’s No. 10 class, headlined by UCF transfer Keyshawn Hall.
The Wolfpack women have yet to square off with Oklahoma in the program’s 51-year history. The Sooners, which reached the Sweet 16 this past March, returns its top three scorers in Raegan Beers, Payton Verhulst and Sahara Williams. It also added the nation’s top freshman in Gatorade National Player of the Year Aaliyah Chavez.
