It doesn’t matter where Payton Wilson is playing, as long as he’s on a football field, the NC State Pack Pro linebacker is going to make a play. That was on full display at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland, this past weekend.

Wilson, a defender with an ever-expanding role in the middle of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense, posted a career-best 13 total tackles in the team’s 24-21 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday morning. He also added eight solo stops to tie his career high, while Wilson also recorded two tackles for a loss.

In addition to his impressive stat line to lead the Steelers’ defense in tackles, Wilson made one of the more eye-popping plays in the entire NFL. At 6-foot-4, 243 pounds, Wilson chased down speedy Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison by running at 22.45 mph to prevent an explosive touchdown pass. His speed marked the fastest any NFL linebacker has run in a game since the league started tracking the statistic in 2016.

While it was reminiscent of his chase-down tackle against Notre Dame as he hit 23.7 mph during the 2023 season, Wilson credited his father’s work ethic rubbing off on him growing up in Hillsborough, N.C.

“My father is a hard working person. I watched him get up at 3 AM everyday. He told me when I play, to play it the right way,” Wilson told reporters afterwards. “Hustle is included in that. I mean, he pushed me to limits I didn’t even know I had.”

While Wilson was able to leave his mark with the Steelers this weekend, he wasn’t the only Pack Pro in action. Let’s take a look at how all of the former Wolfpack players fared in Week 4 of the league’s regular season slate.
