Rapidly-rising ‘28 LB Skylar Alston sets next visit to NC State

Raleigh (N.C.) Cardinal Gibbons linebacker Skylar Alston is one of the fastest-rising players in the 2028 recruiting cycle, despite playing in just two games as a freshman last fall. Alston, who won the Crusaders’ starting linebacker job heading into his first season of high school football, suffered a preseason ankle injury that sidelined him for much of the year. He returned for the penultimate regular season game and played into the playoffs once healthy. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker logged 15 total tackles as a freshman, and although he had limited film, programs around the country must have liked what they saw. Alston racked up nearly two dozen offers on his small sample size of tape, including the likes of Auburn, Alabama, Florida, NC State, Ohio State and UNC, among others.
