Rising LB Zykir Moore commits to NC State

NC State defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot continues to bolster his linebacker room. His latest addition? Pittsburgh (Pa.) Woodland Hills linebacker Zykir Moore.
Moore, an unranked but coveted defender, made his pledge to the Wolfpack official Saturday evening following an official visit with the program June 13-15. He picked NC State over Boston College, Toledo, Syracuse and UConn, which rounded out the linebacker’s top five going into June.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker’s only other official visit was to Toledo the week before he arrived in Raleigh. NC State seemed to impress Moore so much so that he elected to not take any other visits throughout the final two recruiting weekends in the month.
Moore posted 99 tackles, including 15 for a loss, in addition to 13 touchdowns on the offensive side of the ball as a sophomore. Although he seemed primed to have a breakout junior campaign, Moore suffered a season-ending ankle injury in his team’s first game in 2024.
Despite being sidelined for much of his crucial junior season, NC State made Moore a priority on the recruiting trail. He earned an offer from Eliot in March before making his official visit during the Pack’s second visitors weekend of the summer.

The WPIAL standout now has the opportunity to continue his growth as a senior before joining the Wolfpack for his collegiate career in Raleigh as the Eliot’s defense continues to recruit the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast with urgency.
