Roster Reset: Projecting NC state women’s basketball’s starting lineup, rotation and more

NC State coach Wes Moore was the first to admit the transfer portal cycle wasn’t the best for the Wolfpack. It hosted several prospects, but was only able to land one: UConn transfer guard Qadance Samuels. Although the Wolfpack struggled to bring in an injection of top talent from the portal — mostly due to being outbid in NIL as it used a lot of its budget to retain its own players — Moore is confident in the group he has for the 2025-26 season. “I appreciate their loyalty to NC State and our program,” Moore said of the returning core, which is still young without any seniors on the roster. “That was a big part of it. They’re happy here, they love the university, they love the fans here and the support they receive playing in front of a packed house every night. That means a lot to me. “I’m from an era where kids come in and they stay four years and they work to get better and grow. … I’m just kind of used to that and so that was my priority — let’s keep ours and continue that foundation to grow.” NC State has just 10 players on its roster for the upcoming season. Moore and his staff are still looking to add another forward to the mix, likely from the international ranks. Nothing is imminent on that front — and if they can’t land one, the Wolfpack is comfortable rolling with what it has since Moore usually relies on a short bench anyways. Here’s a look at NC State’s roster, what a possible starting lineup could be along with its rotation for the 2025-26 campaign. The Wolfpack has up to five scholarships available.
