NC State football is on the road for the final time this season as it visits No. 15 Miami, while the Wolfpack men’s basketball team is 3-0 to open the 2025 campaign under Will Wade

The Wolfpacker Show breaks down everything you need to know about the two teams, while also highlighting the NC State women’s basketball team as it bounced back after losing its first game of the season.

On this NC State football and basketball episode:

– The show opens with Noah giving his initial thoughts on the state of NC State football and men’s basketball as crossover season is fully underway in Raleigh.

– After the opening segment, CaneSport’s Gary Ferman joins the show to talk all things Miami as NC State prepares to travel south. He started off by giving his initial thoughts on the Hurricanes’ first nine games, which have featured a pair of losses the program wasn’t expecting.

– Gary also broke down the Carson Beck experience at quarterback and what the biggest issue with his play has been to this point this season. He also touched on star wideout Malachi Toney, the Hurricanes’ standout slot route runner that has quickly become Beck’s favorite target.

– Before the Miami segment came to a close, Gary discussed how Miami’s defense has been among the ACC’s top units this season. That unit, in his opinion, will be critical in deciding the outcome of this game as NC State quarterback CJ Bailey is more than able to pick apart defenses, if given the chance.

– After the first guest appearance, Noah gave his score prediction for the clash at Miami. NC State is currently a two-score underdog, according to BetMGM. Will the Wolfpack cover that spread?

– Following the football game preview, Rivals Senior National Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw joined the show to break down the start of the Wade Era in hoops.

– The Wolfpack has averaged 106 points per game through the first three contests, which is the first such stretch since NC State averaged 100 through its first three games of the 2018-19 season. Shaw explains the balanced scoring and firepower that has helped with that.

– Senior forward Darrion Williams, the ACC’s preseason player of the year, has been one of the most impressive players on the floor. He posted his first double-double of the season with 32 points and 10 rebounds in just 29 minutes against UNCG. Jamie explains why Williams is able to find so much success as he makes it look easy in the process.

– Before Jamie left the show, he also talked about sophomore guard Paul McNeil, who has been a flamethrower from 3-point distance as he’s shooting 46.3 percent from beyond the arc through the first three games. He also updated the Wolfpack’s recruiting as the program pursues Brooklyn (N.Y.) Blair Academy five-star point guard Deron Rippey Jr.
