The Wolfpacker Show: Previewing NC State baseball’s ACC Tournament slate
NC State baseball is set for an exciting week at the ACC Tournament at Truist Field in Charlotte, beginning Wednesday evening. The Wolfpack will play Virginia Tech first before taking on Duke Thursday night in the Queen City — both games are scheduled for 7 p.m. on the ACC Network.
The Wolfpacker Show, hosted by Ethan McDowell and Noah Fleischman, taped another episode to preview NC State baseball’s ACC Tournament slate and updated on the Wolfpack’s football and basketball high school recruiting.
In this NC State episode, the hosts discussed:
– NC State baseball’s surge through the last month of the season allowed the Wolfpack to put itself into the mix of hosting in the NCAA Tournament. The red and white won five ranked ACC series, while splitting another at No. 7 Florida State.
– The Wolfpack did this through injury and illness, which made it even more impressive. The two hosts talked about the adversity NC State handled throughout the season — an impressive feat even though several starters missed large amounts of time during the year.
– Noah broke down the unique format of the ACC Tournament. It is divided into four pools with one team from each group advancing to the conference semifinals Sunday afternoon. There’s a path for the Pack to make the weekend with winning just one game during the week.

– The hosts broke down what teams could cause an issue for the Wolfpack this week at the ACC Tournament. They also broke down two players that could be the X-Factor for NC State in the conference tournament and could help the Pack to its first title since 1992.
– After the baseball discussion, Ethan recapped his trip to South Carolina, where he visited several schools that have priority NC State recruits. It is a busy time in recruiting and Ethan mentioned how June is set to be the month of commitments on the gridiron.
– The hosts also talked about basketball recruiting and how the Final Four played a role in that. There were several key recruits that thought of the Wolfpack differently after the team’s run to Phoenix during the NCAA Tournament.
