The Wolfpacker Show: Previewing NC State vs. Florida State

NC State is back home at Carter-Finley Stadium as it looks to earn its sixth win of the season to achieve bowl eligibility for the 11th time in the last dozen seasons. Florida State is the opponent that stands in its way with a Friday night (8 p.m., ESPN) showdown in Raleigh. 

Warchant’s Aslan Hajivandi joins The Wolfpacker Show to break down the primetime matchup between the Seminoles and Wolfpack.

On this episode:

– The show opens with Noah giving his initial thoughts on the state of NC State football and men’s basketball as crossover season is fully underway in Raleigh. 

– After the opening segment, Aslan started off by giving his initial thoughts on the Seminoles’ up-and-down first 10 games of the season, which featured a win over Alabama to open the season and a four-game losing streak a few weeks later.

– Florida State is led by former Boston College quarterback Tommy Castellanos, who has thrown for 2,317 yards with 12 touchdowns and six interceptions, while rushing for 404 yards and eight scores. Aslan gives his take on Castellanos, including why he’s been so volatile this season.

– While Castellanos is a key part of the Seminoles offense, he can’t do it alone. Aslan highlighted a few other players on the unit, including standout wide receiver Duce Robinson. He also talked about a lack of bellcow running back within Florida State’s offense, and why that has been a problem.

– On the flip side, Florida State’s defense has been rather inconsistent too. Aslan talked about why the Seminoles stars on defense haven’t been game changers this season, including a defensive back that is out for the season after a recent injury. 

– Before his segment concluded, Aslan broke down what Florida State needs to do on both offense and defense to win inside Carter-Finley Stadium for the first time since 2016.
