What it was like for Philip Rivers’ high school team to watch his return to NFL after retirement

Text messages streamed in like an avalanche on Monday afternoon. Each one had a different screenshot from social media that referenced Philip Rivers’ upcoming workout with the Indianapolis Colts. As he opened the various digital notes, Fairhope (Ala.) St. Michael Catholic three-star running back Noah Moss couldn’t believe it.  Moss was just at the Rivers household days before, and his high school coach never mentioned any idea of a possible return to the NFL just under five years after his last appearance under center. So as each text came in, Moss had a hard time believing it was true.
