What we learned from NC State’s sweep over No. 2 Clemson

NC State entered the weekend with a big opportunity to continue building a resume to earn a top-16 seed in the NCAA Tournament, which would earn regional hosting rights. And by the time the three-game series was over? The Wolfpack appeared to be College World Series contenders.  The Pack downed No. 2 Clemson 14-4, 8-3 and 4-1 in a series that never felt like the Tigers were going to take a game. It was a dominant effort, one that NC State skipper Elliott Avent believed was his team’s “most complete” weekend of the season. The Wolfpack’s arms delivered and its hitters more than raked against the Tigers’ top pitchers.  Here are three things we learned from NC State’s commanding sweep, which featured its seventh straight win.
