Where NC State football priority 2027 targets are in the Rivals300 rankings update

NC State is full steam ahead on recruiting in the 2027 cycle as the in-state crop of prospects rivals many around the country. The Wolfpack is focused on keeping as many of the local recruits at home as possible as it ramps up its efforts with the next class.
Here’s a look at where each of the Pack’s priority recruits moved in Monday’s Rivals300 rankings update.
CB Xavier Hasan
The Raleigh (N.C.) Cardinal Gibbons four-star cornerback moved up 31 spots to inside the top-30 at No. 27 to become the top-ranked recruit in North Carolina. Hasan, who was previously ranked 58th, has posted 10 total tackles with an interception with the Crusaders this fall.
Hasan was most recently on campus for the Wolfpack’s season-opening win over East Carolina on Aug. 28. The defensive back included NC State inside his top 12 in August, which included the likes of Duke, Georgia, Florida, Notre Dame and Oregon among others.
DL John Archer
After slowly rising in the rankings for the first two-and-a-half seasons, the Fayetteville (N.C.) Seventy-First defensive lineman finally earned his fourth star. He checked in at No. 49 in the Rivals300 rankings after racking up 34 total tackles, including 15 for a loss, through the first seven games of his junior campaign.
Archer, who logged 84 total tackles with 31 for a loss as a sophomore, earned an offer from NC State last September — his second from any program nationally. The 6-foot-5, 320-pound defensive lineman has most-recently earned offers from Penn State and Ohio State.
LB Jalaythan Mayfield
A standout linebacker at Lincolnton (N.C.) High, Mayfield remained constant in this rankings update at No. 56. The four-star prospect posted 103 total tackles, including 18 for a loss and 10 sacks, as a sophomore.
Mayfield has turned into a national recruit with offers from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and Tennessee among others. NC State is in the mix, but doesn’t seem to be towards the top of mind for the linebacker.
EDGE Rashad Streets
Another local recruit, Streets, a Raleigh (N.C.) Millbrook four-star EDGE, fell five spots to No. 58 in the update. The NC State legacy is among the top defensive line targets for the Wolfpack in the 2027 cycle.
He posted 123 total tackles, including 26.5 sacks, as a sophomore to emerge on the radar of several power programs. Streets holds more than two dozen offers, including Georgia, Penn State and Tennessee to go with NC State. He was most recently on campus for the Wolfpack’s season-opening win over East Carolina.
TE Jaxon Dollar
One of the biggest risers in North Carolina’s 2027 cycle, the Denver (N.C.) East Lincoln four-star tight end moved up 22 spots to No. 63 in the update. The No. 4 tight end in the nation is at the top of the list for the Wolfpack, who hosted him for the 56-10 win over Campbell on Oct. 4.
In addition to NC State, Dollar is being pursued by the likes of Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Ohio State and others. He has been on the Wolfpack’s campus twice in the last four months.
DL Seth Tillman
The Rock Hill (S.C.) South Pointe four-star defensive lineman rose six spots to No. 101 on Monday. He has logged 43 total tackles, including 18 for a loss and five sacks, in eight games as a junior this fall.
Tillman, who also visited NC State for the Campbell game on Oct. 4, is the No. 11 defensive lineman in the country. He holds a long list of offers, including from Clemson, South Carolina and Texas A&M among others.

QB Gunner Rivers
After throwing for 1,877 yards with 34 touchdowns and just one interception in his first eight games as a junior, the Fairhope (Ala.) St. Michael Catholic four-star quarterback dropped 13 spots to No. 170 in the latest rankings update.
Rivers, the son of NC State legend Philip Rivers, is set to visit the Wolfpack for the regular season finale against UNC on Nov. 29. He is also being pursued by the likes of Auburn and Alabama among others with a quiet recruitment since Rivers is not on social media for his football play.
S Marquis Bryant
The Rolesville (N.C.) four-star safety held steady at No. 221 in this update. He has posted 21 total tackles, including one sack, in his first eight games of the 2025 campaign.
Bryant holds offers from nearly every program imaginable, including NC State, Notre Dame, Penn State and Michigan, among others. The Wolfpack will continue to pursue the coveted defensive back, who has a national recruitment brewing.
DL Nate Kamba
Kamba, a Charlotte (N.C.) Corvian Community School four-star defensive lineman, dropped 129 spots to No. 231 on Monday. He was most recently on campus for the Wolfpack’s win over Campbell on Oct. 4, the program’s only home game since.
The 6-foot-4, 290-pound prospect has a long list of offers, including Auburn, Nebraska, Ohio State and South Carolina among others.
LB Quinton Cypher
Another player that had a significant drop in the rankings, the Raleigh (N.C.) Millbrook four-star linebacker fell 141 spots to No. 259.
Although Cypher didn’t include NC State inside his top 11 over the summer, the Wolfpack has continued to recruit him — possibly even harder than before. The program has made some progress with Cypher, an NC State legacy, but Cypher’s top schools list included Alabama, Clemson, Duke, Georgia, LSU, North Carolina, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Wisconsin. Oregon has offered Cypher since his list was released.
WR Anthony Roberts
Rounding out the rankings update is Roberts, the Rolesville (N.C.) four-star wide receiver. He fell 137 spots as the Rams have dealt with inconsistent quarterback play. Roberts has logged 17 receptions for 292 yards and five touchdowns in five games this season.
Roberts was most recently on campus for the Wolfpack’s season-opening win over ECU.
