Jeudy is originally from Philadelphia, an area where the Matt Rhule coaching staff has strong recruiting ties from their days at Temple.

Jeudy felt at home in Nebraska

Jeudy visited Nebraska on December 9th and had planned on committing on Christmas Eve. He bumped that date a couple of times to finally land on National Signing Day. Jeudy says that it was a combination of things that helped him realize that Nebraska was the right spot for him.

“I am going to Nebraska,” Jeudy said. “For me, it was the environment there at Nebraska that I was able to see on my visit. And their fans, they are diehard. They are all over my social media adding comments and I know that they love the Huskers.

“But it’s also about the coaches. They have roots here in Philly and I love that. They have made me feel at home there are Nebraska. So have the players. The players really made me feel like I was part of the team already.”

Jeudy will have four years of eligibility remaining. He was a high school recruit in the class of 2021 and was a four-star, Edge from Philadelphia (Pa.) Imhotep Institute. He was the No. 14 Edge in the country and is being projected to play defensive tackle at Nebraska.

“They see me as a three-technique,” Jeudy said told HuskerOnline after his Dec. 9 official visit to Lincoln. “I told them I can play wherever they want me to; I can play at the end to three-technique to the zero. And I can also play from the zero out to the four to the five. I can do whatever they need me to play.”

Nebraska has prioritized defense in the portal

Jeudy was a four-star prospect out of Philadelphia (Penn.) Northeast, in the 2021 cycle, appeared in one game as a true freshman against Prairie View A&M before redshirting. This season, he appeared in just one game, playing eleven snaps against Florida.

He committed to the Aggies over offers from Georgia, Alabama, Penn State, LSU and Michigan during the 2021 Adidas All-American Bowl. A two-sport athlete in high school, Jeudy shined on the track, in addition to the football field.

After redshirting as a freshman, Jeudy was expected to compete for playing time this season, but with the Aggies signing eight defensive linemen in the 2022 class, Jeudy’s situation changed in College Station. That led him to the portal this off-season. He’s expected to arrive to Lincoln in January.

“What I am looking for is really more the opportunity that’s there with the team and getting on the football field,” Jeudy said. “I am also looking for academics and looking for the right help.

“I am looking for NIL, but that doesn’t come until later after I have an impact. The NIL is cool and all, but that’s pennies on what I can make if I can get to the NFL. That is what I am focused on.”
