2024 offensive tackle Guerby Lambert commits to Notre Dame football
The Notre Dame football program has added another verbal commitment to the 2024 class. On Tuesday night, four-star offensive tackle Guerby Lambert announced his pledge to the Fighting Irish.
The 6-foot-6, 290-pound Lambert chose Notre Dame over Boston College, Harvard and Ohio State. He officially visited all three schools in June. His first official visit was to Notre Dame from June 2-4. During it, the Irish made a big move in his recruitment.
“The opportunities for life after football there are endless,” Lambert said to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. “They have an amazing coach staff, great engineering program(which is the major I want to get into), and overall faith. I prayed over this decision everyday and I feel that God is telling me Notre Dame.”
The On3 Industry Ranking — a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services — considers Lambert the No. 54 overall player, No. 4 offensive tackle and No. 1 prospect in Massachusetts. He has a 94.70 rating.
Lambert attends West Roxbury (Mass.) Catholic Memorial — the same school that produced 2023 four-star defensive lineman Boubacar Traore. The 6-4, 254-pound Traore enrolled at Notre Dame in June.
Notre Dame initially offered Lambert back on March 17, 2022, for its “Pot of Gold” Day. Since then, the staff has had the elite prospect at the top of its board for the duration of the cycle. The Irish recruited Lambert for about 15 months until they could host him on campus in June. Their efforts paid off with the commitment.
“I’d say I’m closest to Coach [Joe] Rudolph and Coach [Marcus] Freeman,” Lamvert said. “Their plan is just to coach me into being the best player and human I can be.”
Lambert has only visited Notre Dame once, and he’s only left his home state of Massachusetts twice for college visits.
“Notre Dame, they just say how much it means to get me on their team,” Lambert continued. “They’re really pushing to get me on their team, and they really want me there. And they’ve made that known.”
Lambert gives Notre Dame four offensive line commitments in the 2024 class. He joins Malvern (Pa.) Prep’s Peter Jones and Roswell (Ga.) High’s Anthonie Knapp, who project as interior lineman in college. Fishers (Ind.) Hamilton Southeastern’s Styles Prescod expects to play tackle at Notre Dame.
According to On3’s own rankings, Lambert is the No. 28 overall player, No. 4 offensive tackle and No. 1 prospect in Massachusetts. He has a 96 rating.
Lambert’s On3 NIL Valuation annual value is $128,000. That ranks No. 116 among high school football prospects.
He reported 21 Power Five scholarship offers during his recruitment. Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Penn State and Stanford are among the other programs that had offered him.
