Notre Dame opens Atlantic Coast Conference play with a matchup against No. 8 Miami on Saturday. Led by head coach Jim Larranaga, the Hurricanes are coming off back-to-back Elite Eight appearances and a Final Four berth this past season.

“Miami is one of the best teams in transition in the country,” Irish head coach Micah Shrewsberry said Thursday. “They really push the ball, really try and attack you after makes, after misses.”

Here’s how to watch Saturday’s game on Fubo.

Notre Dame at Miami game information

Matchup notables

• Notre Dame shoots 28.2 percent from 3-point range, compared to Miami’s 43.1 percent. The Hurricanes feature hot-shooting guards like Wooga Poplar, who has made 19 of his 34 attempts from deep this season. The Irish’s best shooter with a significant sample size is Julian Roper II at 35.0 percent.

• Junior Irish guard J.R. Konieczny has scored in double figures three of the past four games, with two double-doubles.

• Notre Dame only scored 7 bench points Tuesday at South Carolina, all coming courtesy of freshman guard Braeden Shrewsberry. Sophomore forward Tae Davis led the Irish in scoring with 15, including his first and so far only made 3-pointer of the season.

• The Irish average 11.2 assists per game, which the elder Shrewsberry has said is unacceptable. Notre Dame wants to be a ball movement-reliant offense, which fans saw a glimpse of in the first half against Oklahoma State on Nov. 17.

• Three of Miami’s four leading scorers — Poplar, forward Torched Omier and guard Nigel Pack — are holdovers from the 2022-23 team that upset Texas to go to the Final Four. Forward Matthew Cleveland, a Florida State transfer, is up there as well. Cleveland averages 14.8 points per game and shoots 53.3 percent from deep, albeit in a smaller sample size (15 shots) than Poplar.

• Notre Dame needs only 3 wins to match its 2022-23 season total in ACC play. Last year’s result doesn’t particularly matter because the Irish’s roster looks so different, but Miami beat Notre Dame 76-65 on Dec. 30, 2022 in South Bend.
