Notre Dame is home for the holiday. Finally. In a season that has already featured road trips to Paris, New Jersey and Washington D.C., the Fighting Irish will stay within Indiana’s border for their next two games this week. Head coach Niele Ivey seemed relieved by that in a meeting with the press Monday afternoon.

“I feel like we’ve been on the road forever,” Ivey said.

The Thanksgiving week slate begins with a home game against Chicago State on Tuesday night. Here’s how to watch and stream on FUBO.

Notre Dame women’s basketball vs. Illinois game info

Matchup notables

• Notre Dame will again be without junior guard Sonia Citron because of a knee injury. The ailment is less severe than anticipated, though; Citron is expected to only miss a few weeks.

• Sophomore guard/forward Cassandre Prosper made her first career start in the first game without Citron vs. Illinois this past Saturday. She had 4 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assists in 21 minutes.

• Senior forward Maddy Westbeld elevated her contributions without Citron. She had 24 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in Notre Dame’s 79-68 victory over the Illini.

• Notre Dame is still very much led by freshman point guard Hannah Hidalgo. The superstar in the making had 24 points, 8 assists, 6 steals and 5 rebounds against Illinois. She has scored at least 21 points in all four games this season. She’s also grabbed at least 6 steals in each of the last three games. It’s not quite fleshed out how Hidalgo will coexist with junior point guard Olivia Miles once she returns from rehabbing her knee, but it is clear Hidalgo is 100 percent part of the equation required for Notre Dame to have success this season.

• Winless Chicago State does not match up well against Hidalgo and company. The Cougars have turned the ball over a staggering 23.2 times in their first five games. It’s a program that went 6-22 last season and is not far removed from a completely winless campaign, going 0-29 in 2016-17. The Cougars lost 59 games in a row in their worst stretch spanning multiple seasons back then.
