With four games left in the regular season, Notre Dame is still hanging around the top 10 of the Associated Press Poll. The Fighting Irish checked in at No. 10, their same ranking as last week, after home wins over Pittsburgh and Syracuse.

Notre Dame (20-4, 11-3 ACC) hosts Louisville (19-8, 10-4) at Purcell Pavilion this Thursday. The Irish currently sit in solo second place behind Duke (22-3, 12-2) in the ACC standings. They likely need to win out for any hope of earning a regular season conference title. The Blue Devils beat the Irish 57-52 in South Bend just over a week ago, but two of their final four games are against top 20 foes.

Notre Dame also ranked No. 10 in the first reveal of the NCAA’s top 16 teams in the projected tournament field. That would make head coach Niele Ivey’s team a No. 3 seed in the big dance. The Irish rose all the way to the No. 1 seed line in ESPN’s bracketology earlier this season. Two losses in the last five games dropped the team two seed lines.

Barring disaster, the Irish should host the first two rounds of the tournament in South Bend. Teams on the top four seed lines earn that privilege. Outside two more games against Louisville, the Irish face the two worst teams in the ACC, Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech, in the last four regular season games. Notre Dame has not beaten Louisville since 2019, but if Ivey’s team can get over that hurdle it will be well positioned for the postseason.
