COLUMBUS — Ohio State has its first kickoff time of the 2024 season, and it’s a big one.

The Game will get going at its normal 12 p.m. start time. This time, the Buckeyes are hosting the Michigan Wolverines on Nov. 30 in Ohio Stadium. It will once again air on FOX.

Last season, Michigan won its third straight game in the series, 30-24, marking the first time the Wolverines posted such a streak since 1995-97. Head coach Jim Harbaugh’s squad went on to win the national championship.

Harbaugh has since left for the NFL, and so have several of the Wolverines’ stars from the 2023 campaign.

Ryan Day, meanwhile, is entering his sixth season as full-time Ohio State head coach. The Buckeyes are searching for their first Big Ten championship since 2020, their first win over Michigan since 2019 and their first national title since 2014.

Ohio State returned 11 draft-eligible and starter-level players this offseason, including eight on the defensive side of the ball. The Buckeyes also added six scholarship transfers. That group includes arguably the best safety in the country, sophomore Caleb Downs from Alabama; a potential starting quarterback, grad transfer Will Howard from Kansas State; and another, true freshman Julian Sayin from Alabama; not to mention an All-SEC running back, junior Quinshon Judkins from Ole Miss.

The Buckeyes will enter training camp with their most talented roster since at least 2019. They have made depth an emphasis this offseason, considering — if they fulfill their championship aspirations — they will have a season as long as 16 or 17 games with the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff.

During the regular season, however, Ohio State has only four road games on the schedule. Last year, on the other hand, Ohio State played six regular season games away from the ‘Shoe.
