INDIANAPOLIS — Luke Montgomery was a crown jewel of the 2023 Ohio State recruiting class: Not only because he was the No. 2 in-state prospect last cycle but also because he was a peer recruiting machine who helped build out the fourth-ranked class in the country. A month into Montgomery's mid-year arrival in Columbus, Ohio State offensive line coach Justin Frye used four words to describe the early enrollee's personality.
