Ohio State product Reid Fragel on Michigan recruiting graphic: 'It's like admitting defeat'

There are no hard feelings with Ed Warinner’s old offensive linemen at Ohio State, and odds are it wasn’t his call to create the graphic at his new job that borrowed from his old one.

But that didn’t make it any less awkward for former Buckeyes like myself to see ourselves pictured on recruiting materials for the other side of the best rivalry in college football.

I played under Warinner during the unbeaten season in 2012, and as the newest contributor to Lettermen Row, I sat down to discuss my feelings for my old position coach and my reaction to the infamous Michigan recruiting graphic touting the success of the Buckeyes. I was one of five former Ohio State linemen highlighted as part of Warinner’s resume due to careers in the NFL, joining Jack Mewhort, Taylor Decker, Andrew Norwell and Corey Linsley among those scarlet-and-gray products on a maize-and-blue flyer.
