4-star OL Li'Marcus Jones decommits from Ole Miss
2027 Jackson (Miss.) Callaway offensive tackle Li’Marcus Jones has decommitted from Ole Miss, he announced on Monday. He was the first 2027 pledge for Lane Kiffin & Co., which now has two commits in the class.
“I decided to decommit from Ole Miss because I felt I committed too early,” Jones told On3’s Chad Simmons on Monday. “I want to get to know the coaches better and I want to see Ole Miss as a team and how they are as a family and what the culture is like.
“I’m looking for a school that’s going to show me love, a school that’s going to have my back and a school that’s going to help me be a better player on and off the field.”
The No. 197 prospect and No. 17 offensive tackle in the 2027 On3 Industry Ranking has started to get out and see different schools. He has 15 offers and he has visited Alabama, Duke, Mississippi State, North Carolina and Tennessee. He has trips to LSU and South Alabama on his radar.

Jones recently transferred to Callaway High School, where he is adjusting and working on his craft.
“It’s been good. I’ve been in the weight room, picking up more weights and working on my technique more.”
Ole Miss impressed Jones on his visit when he committed to the Rebels. Now, the in-state program will work to get him back.
“It was very good, I was very excited about doing it,” Jones told On3 after his commitment. “Ole Miss has been showing so much love since the day they offered me so once I committed, I feel like I was already at home. The players (stood out). I’ve seen how they had each other’s backs in the trenches, even though they compete against each other and for a starting spot, at the same time, they still had each other’s backs as a family.”
