Availability Report: Two key Rebels are questionable for Ole Miss at Oklahoma

Ole Miss has listed three Rebels as questionable and another as probable for its Top 15 matchup at Oklahoma on Saturday.
The SEC’s first availability report of the week was released Wednesday night. Tight end Dae’Quan Wright, wide receiver Deuce Alexander and offensive lineman Terez Davis are all listed as questionable.
True freshman defensive back Ladarian Clardy, who missed last week at Georgia, is probable. The No. 8-ranked Rebels (6-1, 3-1 SEC) take on the No. 13 Sooners (6-1, 2-1) at Noon CT on ABC.
Wright has hauled in three touchdowns and sits as the Rebels’ second-leading receiver (393 yards). He’s in his second Ole Miss season after transferring in from Virginia Tech. Alexander is third on the Rebels in receiving yards (382). He’s second among wide receivers.
Davis, an off-season transfer addition from Maryland, has participated in just one game so far — against Tulane. Davis hurt his ankle in fall camp. He played 10 games for Maryland last season, primarily at tackle.
All are expected to play against the Sooners.
Alexander has made the spectacular look routine through the Rebels’ first six games, including a highlight-reel catch worthy of the SportsCenter Top 10 in the 43-35 loss at Georgia.
Alexander had 60 or more yards in just two of 12 games for the Demon Deacons last season. He’s gone for at least 64 in four for the Rebels.
Alexander led Ole Miss in receptions (4) and receiving yards (94, a new career-high) against Tulane. He’s one of five transfer receivers signed by the Rebels in the NCAA Transfer Portal. Ole Miss finished with the nation’s No. 3 overall class.
Alexander played two seasons at Wake Forest, including a redshirt year as a freshman. He appeared in 14 games in all. Twelve came last season. Alexander finished with 36 catches for 400 yards and two touchdowns.

“We knew Deuce was explosive,” Ole Miss sixth-year head coach Lane Kiffin said. “You could see him in a wide open offense to make all those plays where we can just see what he did in their system.”
Players listed as questionable on the SEC Availability Report are ‘uncertain to play due to injury or condition.’ Players listed as doubtful are ‘unlikely to play due to significant concerns.’ Probable players are ‘likely to play, barring any setbacks.’

Oklahoma placed eight on the injury report.
Running back Jovantae Barnes, cornerback Gentry Williams and offensive linemen Derek Simmons and Logan Howland are all questionable. Wide receiver Keontez Lewis is listed as doubtful. Lewis missed the Sooners’ 26-7 win over South Carolina last week.
Jake Taylor, Jacob Sexton and Troy Everett have been ruled out. Cornerback Kendel Dolby isn’t on the availability report. He was surprisingly ruled out late last week.
Simmons’ availability is crucial for the Sooners, according to OUInsider. Simmons played a huge part in the Sooners’ success against the Gamecocks, particularly in the running game. Oklahoma rushed for 171 total yards, the third-best performance of the season.
Ole Miss, meanwhile, is No. 99 in rush defense. Luke Baklenko would likely draw the start at right tackle if Simmons is unable to play. That is, unless Howland can give it a go. Howland has missed the last two weeks.
