Jaxson Dart receives special gift from Eli Manning ahead of rookie season

New York Giants quarterback and former Ole Miss Rebel Jaxson Dart received a special gift from another Rebel and Giant legend, Eli Manning.
The video below includes Dart hearing from Manning, a two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback, at the NFLPA Rookie Premiere Weekend in Los Angeles over the offseason. Manning signed the jersey for the first round pick.
“Hey, Jaxson,” Manning said in his video. “It’s been an honor to watch you these past three years break all my records at Ole Miss.”
Dart was a three-year starter at Ole Miss. He left Oxford as the program’s all-time leader in wins (28). He led Ole Miss to back-to-back 10-win seasons for the first time since the 60s.

In April, the Giants made Dart the first Rebel quarterback taken in the first round of the NFL Draft since Eli Manning in 2004. They landed him at No. 25 overall and he’s third on the initial depth chart behind Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.
Dart’s excited to show what he can do in the New York offense with the likes of star wide receiver Malik Nabers at his disposal.
“Having to go against our guys day in and day out has been some really good work. For me, something that’s going to carry over is my aggressiveness [and] ability to push the ball down the field. At the same time, I take care of the ball,” he said earlier this year. “You can look at my numbers year after year. I don’t turn the ball over a lot and I keep it on our side. Really excited to implement this offense more and more into some of my play style and whatnot. I’m really excited for the season.”
The Giants open the preseason on Saturday at Noon CT against the Buffalo Bills.
