LOOK: 2023 Ole Miss commit Kaden Irving hits towering home run
Gautier (Miss.) infielder Kaden Irving has been committed to Ole Miss and head coach Mike Bianco for some time now. Through 74 games in high school, the 6-foot-2, 215 pounder has hit .437, slugged .755 and has a career OPS of 1.291 at Gautier High School.
He’s hit 18 doubles, 16 home runs, scored 52 runs and driven in 55 more. The most recent long ball, like most, was documented on Twitter.
It took a while to come down but sources say it did somewhere around the outskirts of Lucedale, Miss.

The 2023 commit is an intriguing prospect not only because of his raw power, but also because of his athleticism.
Irving is also the quarterback at Gautier High School, throwing for almost 7,500 yards and 66 touchdowns in three years under center. He’s also run for 874 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Irving is rated as a 9.5 out of 10 prospect by Perfect Game. Here’s their breakdown of him at their 2021 Jr. National Showcase:
Kaden Irving is a 2023 3B/RHP with a 6-foot-2, 215 pound frame from Gautier, MS who attends Gautier HS. Recorded a 7.12 second 60-yard dash time. Physical frame with a ton of strength present and solid athleticism as well. Primary third baseman who fields out in front and throws from a lower slot with some whip to the arm stroke. Accurate across and moves to both sides well. Throws recorded up to 81 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a low three-quarters arm slot and gathers on the backside well. Turn and fire mechanics and keeps it simple. Upper half dominant release and worked in the low-80s with run. Cut a changeup and flashed a softer curveball. Tremendous student. Verbal commitment to Ole Miss.
As of now, he is not expected to play both at Ole Miss. But given the Rebels’ history in allowing players the opportunity to at least pursuit both, who is to say he won’t be given that same chance?
