A second-inning, seven-run offensive explosion helped No. 4 Ole Miss baseball build a large, early lead against Delaware on Sunday, and the Rebels went on to complete the series sweep with a 14-4 Sunday win.

The Rebels (3-0) won the first two games of the weekend 11-2 and 10-0 on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Rebel shortstop Jacob Gonzalez, led the Rebel offense with a career-high seven RBI. Gonzalez — a preseason All-American ranked as a Top 10 prospect for the 2023 MLB Draft by all major outlets — finished with a walk, double and decisive grand slam, the first for Ole Miss this season

Alderman assisted Gonzalez by going 3 for 5 with a home run and two RBI, while first-year JUCO transfer Ethan Lege was 2 for 3 with three runs scored while batting in the two-hole for the first time.

Veteran catcher Calvin Harris had a double and a triple. He finished with two RBI. JUCO transfer LHP Xavier Rivas was the winning pitcher in his first-ever start for the Rebels. He struck out eight with one hit and no runs allowed over his 4.1 innings.

The Rebels host Arkansas State at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
