Nation's No. 1 LB, Ole Miss commit Izayia Williams back in Oxford

Ole Miss commit and Leesburg (Fla.) Tavares four-star linebacker Izayia Williams is back in Oxford for an unofficial visit this weekend. The Rebels flipped him from Florida earlier this year and getting him back in town is big for defensive coordinator Pete Golding.
Williams flipped to Ole Miss after an official visit in April. Florida is still hoping to flip him back with his proximity to Gainesville.
On3 is much higher on Williams than other services. In the On300 rankings, he is the country’s No. 13 recruit and No. 1 linebacker. He ranks as the nation’s No. 50 overall prospect and No. 3 LB, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
During the 2024 season, the 6-foot-1, 215-pound Williams racked up 137 total tackles, 22 tackles for loss, six sacks, five pass breakups and an interception.

“Izayia Williams has been a top 75 prospect for On3 for the majority of the cycle and continues to rise after a scintillating junior season,” On3 director of scouting and rankings Charles Power wrote. “The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder is an elite athlete (11.05 100m as a sophomore) who first came on the national radar as a safety. Williams has grown into a true linebacker prospect and put together some of the best junior film we’ve seen from any defender in the 2026 cycle.
“The electric athleticism pairs with elite play violence on Friday nights. Williams is a sideline-to-sideline headhunter with great range. Williams will bring a hyper-athletic, physical presence to (Oxford).”
Williams was also at one time committed to Florida State, Syracuse, and Louisville over the past two years. The Rebels are hoping to be his final commitment of his recruitment.
