Ole Miss opens up its 2025 college football season in 103 days looking to improve off its Gator Bowl appearance last season and try for a fourth 10-win season in the last five years.

That will get started on August 30 against Georgia State and the experts in Las Vegas have started rolling out spreads for the season opener.

Spoiler, the Rebels are heavy favorites to start their season 1-0.

Draft Kings released odds and list Ole Miss as a 35.5-point favorite over the Panthers. So far it is the only game on the Rebels schedule that currently has a spread posted by a sportsbook. This will be the first meeting between the two programs.

Las Vegas does have odds out for how the rest of the season might go for Ole Miss. The win total for the Rebels was posted at 8.5 by Fan Duel and other sportsbooks, anticipating a similar season to 2024 when they finished 9-3 before the bowl win in Jacksonville.

This is going to be a year with a lot of unknowns due to the roster turnover Ole Miss experienced, and knew it would. Lane Kiffin enters his sixth season as the Rebels head coach and turning into the most successful coach of the modern era, only behind legendary head coach Johnny Vaught.

“It’s been an amazing five years,” Kiffin told Matt DeGregorio of WLOX at a recent Grove Collective Caravan stop. “Won a lot of games, made a lot of great relationships with people there, with people at the university.

“So many players come in, so many just got drafted and moved on to NFL teams. I think it’s like 20 signed. It’s been a great run.”

Kickoff between Ole Miss and Georgia State has not been announced, yet. The only known kickoff time for the Rebels this season is the Egg Bowl which was announced for an 11 a.m. CT kickoff on Friday, November 28.
