Saturday was a big day for Ole Miss football in several ways, none the least being a major jump into the Top 5 after knocking off LSU.

The No. 4 Rebels are 5-0 after a perfect September and sit atop the Southeastern Conference standings at 3-0. They get to prop their feet up and rest this weekend for the first of two bye weeks this season.

Another perk of beating the Tigers is Ole Miss seeing a massive improvement in its bowl projections. The postseason outlook is very different on Monday with the Week 6 projections rolling in.

No longer is the Duke’s Mayo bowl the destination (No offense to the city of Charlotte). Now it might be College Football Playoffs or bust. The projections do not anticipate a short stay in the CFP, either.

Here are this week’s latest bowl projections for Ole Miss

  • Brett McMurphy (On3)
No. 5 vs. No. 12 Memphis (First Round of CFP)
vs. No. 4 Texas A&M (Sugar Bowl)
  • Mark Schlabach (ESPN) –
No. 5 vs. No. 12 South Florida
    vs. No. 4 Texas A&M (Sugar Bowl/Quarterfinals)
vs. No. 1 Ohio State (Peach Bowl/Semifinals)
  • Kyle Bonagura (ESPN) –
No. 4 vs. No. 5 Texas A&M (Sugar Bowl)
vs. No. 1 Ohio State (Fiesta Bowl)
  • Brad Crawford (CBS Sports) –
No. 3 vs. No. 6 Alabama/No. 11 Notre Dame (Sugar Bowl)
  • Athlon Sports –
No. 4 vs. No. 5 Alabama (Sugar Bowl)
  • College Football News –
    vs. Michigan (Citrus Bowl)

There is still more than half the season to go but what Ole Miss accomplished in the first month of the season has greatly altered how the rest of 2025 can go.

After the bye week the Rebels host Washington State (3-2) on October 11 to close out the four-game homestand. Kickoff is set for 11:45 a.m. CT on SEC Network.
