The history-making season continues for Ole Miss as the waiting and wondering is over. Sunday saw the Rebel officially punch their ticket to the College Football Playoff.

They will be one of 12 teams to compete for a national championship in 2025.

On Sunday, the College Football Playoff committee ranked Ole Miss (11-1) No. 6 in the final CFP Top 25 rankings. This means there will be playoff football in Oxford in a little under two weeks from now.

Ole Miss was not dinged for losing Lane Kiffin at the helm, moving up a spot to No. 6 in Tuesday’s penultimate rankings. That stayed true on Sunday and new head coach Pete Golding is leading the Rebels into the playoffs.

The Rebels will host 11 Seed Tulane in the first round on December 20 at 2:30 p.m. CT. The winner will advance and play with 3 Seed Georgia in Sugar Bowl for the quarterfinal round.

A pair of rematches for Ole Miss in the playoffs where it split the regular season games. The Rebels beat Tulane, 45-10, in week four and then the Bulldogs won a shootout in Athens, 43-35, in mid-October.
