Ole Miss earns No. 10 National Seed with Oxford Regional field set
There will be postseason baseball in Oxford after Ole Miss earned a Regional bid on Sunday. On Monday The Rebels were named the No. 10 National Seed and learned which three teams will join them this weekend at Oxford-University Stadium.
Last week Georgia Tech was in the running for a host seed as the regular season ACC Champions but a loss to Clemson in the ACC Tournament ended that dream and the Yellow Jackets (40-17) will be coming to Oxford as the 2 Seed.
Making its first appearance in 22 years Murray State (39-13) is the 4 Seed and will play Ole Miss (40-19) on Friday in the opening day of the Oxford Regional.
Playing the Yellow Jackets in the first round of the regional is Western Kentucky (46-12). The Hilltoppers are back in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2003.

After a run through the SEC Tournament last week the Rebels worked their way back into a Top 16 National Seed and nearly forced a conversation to be had to be in the Top 8. They fell to No. 1 National Seed Vanderbilt, 3-2, in Sunday’s tournament championship.
“You look at teams like Ole Miss late in the year, they made their case stronger and stronger each and every day,” NCAA Baseball Selection Chairman Jay Artigues said on Monday. “What they did in the SEC Tournament, they positioned themselves into the conversation.”
The Oxford Regional is paired with the Athens Regional and No. 7 National Seed Georgia (42-15). Duke (37-19) is the 2 Seed, Oklahoma State (28-23) is the 3 Seed and Binghamton (29-24) is the 4 Seed of that Regional.
Start times for Friday will be announced later on Monday.
