No. 11 Ole Miss (10-2, 6-2) outlasted Mississippi State this year in the Egg Bowl, 17-7. Lane Kiffin and the Rebels have now won 10 games in the regular season for the second time. In three years! And, furthermore, will now have a shot at winning 11 games for the first time ever.

The game wasn’t as flashy and dominant as the Ole Miss fanbase would’ve liked, but it was a methodical win for the Rebels. Jaxson Dart and the offense were stuck in the mud for most of the game, but Quinshon Judkins eclipsed 1,000 yards once again and Caden Prieskorn iced it in the fourth quarter.

Defensively, Pete Golding’s unit shut down Will Rogers and Jo’Quavious Marks. The Bulldogs couldn’t do much and Ole Miss held it to just 96 yards rushing and three yards per carry.

But once the dust settled on Sunday, the Zach Arnett Era was over and the Jeff Lebby Era began.

On this edition of “Daytime Fireworks”, David Brandt and I look at the Lebby hiring and much more.

Ole Miss could be headed to Florida or Texas for a bowl.

Several people think the Rebels could be headed to either the Citrus Bowl to take on someone like Iowa or Texas to take on the Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl. Two very different types of fun
