Starkville's Braylon Burnside (5) carries for yardage against Louisville in Starkville, Miss., Friday, Sept. 15, 2023.

Starkville (Miss.) wide receiver Braylon “Stonka” Burnside announced he was reopening his recruitment Monday morning. The four-star prospect had been committed to Mississippi State since June.

Burnside ranks as the No. 245 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average which utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 43 wide receiver and the No. 6 player in the state of Mississippi.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $62K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index which sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

As a senior this year, Braylon Burnside has been a dominant pass-catcher.

The Ole Miss Rebels have been recruiting the four-star prospect for well over two years now. Wide receivers coach Derrick Nix and coordinator of recruiting strategy Kelvin Bolden have put in the work with the 6-foot-1, 194 pound recruit.

My Recruiting Prediction Machine pick has been in for Ole Miss since last summer and I still think the Rebels are the leader. This just has the feel of an AJ Brown-type recruitment where, despite the outside noise, Ole Miss will get it done in enemy territory once again.

Texas A&M, Arkansas, Auburn and Alabama have all been linked to Burnside throughout his recruitment. He told me earlier this summer he plans to take all his official visits. He also says he plans on declaring early and signing in December.
