Ole Miss adds Nebraska EDGE transfer Princewill Umanmielen

Nebraska EDGE transfer Princewill Umanmielen has committed to Ole Miss, he announced. He is fresh off an official visit to Oxford, Miss., where he had a chance to sit down with the staff. The plan is for him to follow in his big brother’s footsteps, making an instant impact on the defensive line.
Umanmielen visited Texas A&M before announcing for the commitment to the Rebels.
Ole Miss has added five commitments already this week. Five-star EDGE Da’Shawn Womack and three-star Charlotte transfer PJ Wilkins both announced for the Rebels earlier in the week. Then the Rebels snagged three from Arkansas, landing commitments from Patrick Kutas, Jaylon Braxton and Luke Hasz. Now, Lane Kiffin has added another blue chip transfer.
He played in all 12 regular season games, recording just 13 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks throughout the season. But, the potential to be a breakout star in Pete Golding‘s defense under Randall Joyner‘s tutelage is there.
Umanmielen played at Manor (Tex.) where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 227 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average which utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Umanmielen will try to have the impact his brother did on the Ole Miss defense. Princely Umanmielen earned All-SEC First Team honors after tormenting SEC offenses all season. Despite missing a few games, he still managed to make 10.5 sacks and 34 tackles. The younger Umanmielen figures to have similar upside.
The Rebels will have to replace Princely and Jared Ivey on the outside. The younger brother should be able to fit right in. At 6-foot-4, 245 pounds, he has the frame and agility to be a factor immediately in 2025.
