Ole Miss infielder Luke Hill named Ferriss Trophy finalist

The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame announced the five finalist for the 2025 Ferriss Trophy on Wednesday and Luke Hill will represent Ole Miss.
Hill transferred to the Rebels ahead of the 2024 season from Arizona State and has been a utility infielder the past two seasons. This year he currently ranks the top 15 in multiple offensive categories in the SEC including batting average (.344), on base percentage (.474), runs scored (52), hits (62), walks (39), and stolen bases (16). He is just the second Rebel to steal more than 15 bases in a season since 2019.
He is currently in the middle of a 32-game on-base streak which is the longest since Kemp Alderman’s 49-game streak set in 2023.
The other four finalists for the Ferris Trophy, which is given to the top collegiate baseball player in Mississippi, were Mississippi State third baseman Ace Reese, Southern Miss pitcher JB Middleton and second baseman Nick Monistere and Delta State pitcher Drake Fontenot.
