The Ole Miss men’s basketball team opened up preseason camp this week and the first game against another opponent is about a month out.

An exhibition game against St. Mary’s on October 26 will be the first chance to see Chris Beard’s third roster in Oxford before the games start to count eight days later.

On Thursday Ole Miss released its non-conference schedule for the 2025-26 season, completing its entire schedule for the year along with the Southeastern Conference slate already announced.

Beard has curated a non-conference slate that fits the goals and desires he has for November and December. A schedule that is fitting for an Ole Miss team that is wanting to strengthen its resume and aiming for a second-straight bid to the NCAA Tournament.

A trip to New York City to play St. John’s in Madison Square Garden on December 6 headlines a stout non-conference schedule.

Last season the Rebels made it to the Sweet 16 for only the second time in program history, losing to Michigan State in Atlanta back in March.

Beard has double-digit newcomers to this year’s team that has only Malik Dia and Eduardo Klafke as key returners from that NCAA Tournament squad.

“I think, above all, if I had to describe this team based on what we learned this summer in preseason, we have a lot of depth, which should translate to us having very competitive practices, which ultimately in college basketball is where you improve,” Beard said on Thursday. “That’s been a real positive.”
